After a week of excitement and friendly competitions, the "2009 CARIFTA Swimming and Synchronized Swimming Championships" have come to an end.
It has been a true privilege for us to welcome you to our shores and to share with you our hospitality, dedication and friendship. Our congratulations and sincere admiration to all participating athletes, dedicated coaches and team officials for their outstanding performances, which were at the center of the success of Carifta 2009. The high level of competition once again demonstrated the development of swimming within our region and sends a clear signal to the world about the impressive level of performance of our young Caribbean swimmers.
 
To the many supporters that traveled to Aruba to support their teams, thank you! You made each day a celebration and once again created a true Caribbean party atmosphere at the pool.

For all of us at the Aruban Swimming Federation, the CARIFTA 2009 Organizing Committee, the officials and volunteers, and to all those who made the event possible, thank you for allowing us to be your hosts and to share this unique sporting experience with you.
The future holds important challenges for all of us, but we are confident that through teamwork and a continued cooperation, the journey will be an exciting one and our efforts will prove to be successful.
