CISC 2014 Final Results

CISC 2014 has come to its end

The 16 swimmers representing Aruba in Barbados can look back on a very succesfull championship. Ending the meet with 39 Medals, 18 Gold, 11 Silver and 10 Bronze, 3 HighPoint Trophies, 2 CISC records, 5 Aruba Open records, and 7 Aruba Agegroup Records. Keeley Maduro (13-14) Patrick Groters (13-14) and Mikel Schreuders (15-17) scored more than any other swimmer in their respective categories. Aruba was the only country bringing home more than 1 Highpoint Trophy, ending up 3rd in Medal Count and 5th in points, no small feat considering that there were only 16 swimmers in the delegation.

DAY 4: 15 Swimmers & 1 Relay Qualify for Finals tonight at CISC 2014

Tonight will be another busy night for the Aruba delegation at CISC. In the 400 free events Daniella & Andrea van den Berg, Mikel Schreuders, Edward Mulder, Flory Kock, Keeley Maduro, Patrick Groters, & Daniel Jacobs will be vying for spots on the podium in their agegroups. Following the 400 Free, Mikel, Anahi Schreuders, Junice Martin & Brandon Cheong will be racing in the 50 Breaststroke events and in the final individual series of the evening, the 200 Backstroke, Ginayla Arends, Patrick and Elizabeth Timmer will do their best to bring home more medals. To close out Day 4 of CISC the 15-17 girls relay team will try to repeat yesterday's performance in the 4 x 100 Medley relay.

8 more medals for Aruban Swimmers at CISC 2014 on Day 4:

Tonight brought more succes for our swimmers in Barbados. Daniella van den Berg started of the night with a gold medal in the 400 Free, stopping the clock first in 4:29.93, a 2015 Panam B qualifying time. Immediately following, Mikel Schreuders had an exciting race all the way to the finish, touching the wall second for the silver medal, 4:08.68, only 0.05 sec behind. His time is also a B qualifying time for Panam 2015. Not even half hour later Mikel got the gold in the 50 Breaststroke 30.88. Patrick Groters, in another nailbiter, followed Mikel in the 400, doing the exact same thing, winning silver, 0.05 sec behind nr.1. His time 4:12.98 is his personal best. Later on in the evening, Patrick earned himself another silver medal in the 200 backstroke in 2:15.95.  Keeley Maduro, also in the 400 Free, won the bronze medal in a personal best of 4:41.12. The 50 Breaststroke brought more excitement for Aruba with Brandon Cheong winning gold in 33.45, while tying with the Bahamas swimmer. Anahi Schreuders was fast enough tonight to win the bronze medal in 35.35.

9 More Medals for Aruba at CISC 2014

Daniella & Andrea van den Berg, Ginayla Arends, & Rebecca Maduro won another gold medal for Aruba on Day 3 in the 4 x 200 Free rely Girls 15-17. They accomplished this in a new CISC record time. Besides this gold, 2 silver and 6 bronze medals were won by the Aruban swimmers. Silvers went to Mikel Schreuders in 50 Free and Daniella in 200 fly. The bronze medals were earned by Elisabeth Timmer in 100 fly and 200 free, Rebecca in the 50 free, Keeley Maduro in 200 fly, Patrick Groters in 50 back, and the 4 x 200 free relay girls 13-14 consisting of Keeley, Junice Martin, Anahi Schreuders and Flory Kock.
